2017.03.14 19:39 Goth_Annie [TOMT][Song]A song by a female singer about accepting or admitting that your ex-partner is much happier with their new lover, heard in late 2008.

Edit: I found it, it was Where I Stood by Missy Higgins. The line I thought of was "Cause she will love you more than I could".
I don't remember any specific parts of the lyrics, just the overall theme, nor do I remember the melody, but I remember having it stuck in my head when I was on a trip to New York in October 2008 (I remember it being right before Halloween), so that's the latest possible date for the song's release. I think that the song actually got released around that time, too, so it wasn't an old song that I just happened to listen to at that time.
The singer was definitely female, and I'm fairly sure it was a solo artist, not a band or group. I also think it was a country singer, but I'm not sure about that.
It was a love song, it was fairly slow, I think. The topic was that the singer's ex-boyfriend had a new girlfriend and the singer was basically saying "It's okay, I'm hurt and all that, but she can love you much better anyways." Again, this is just me trying to sum up what the song was about (to my knowledge), not part of actual lyrics. I can't seem to remember them.
Someone I asked already suggested Carrie Underwood and I went through her albums on Spotify, but none of the songs seemed to fit what I remember (not even the later releases). It's possible that it was a song that wasn't on any album or something, though. It seems like Carrie Underwood's voice kinda fits into my memory, but that might be me remembering it wrong.
